4. dirty south. nicky romero/tommy trash. bassjackers/angger dimas. moguai. deniz koyu. style of eye. felix cartal/pierce fulton.
a slow week in music compared to the last, being that most artists saved their releases for last week coinciding with their arrivals in miami. however this week there’s still a few, so see how you go with these.
Michael Brun – Rise (Dirty South Edit) – dirty south has been killing it in the last 12 months. this is no exception. it’s no anthem, but it’s still pretty fucking good.
Nicky Romero – Toulouse (Tommy Trash Remix) – it doesn’t outdo the original, but it’s tommy fucking trash. he doesn’t make bad songs.
Bassjackers & Angger Dimas – RIA (Original Mix) – bassjackers are awesome, don’t get me wrong. but angger dimas disappoints me. his releases have really dropped off in the last year or so, and he needs to step up his game. but this is still a solid release nevertheless.
Junkie XL (Feat. Isis Salam) – Off The Dancefloor (Deniz Koyu Remix) – deniz koyu going large this year. bring on an australian tour!
Style of Eye – Devastate (Original Mix) – i love style of eye, i always enjoy their releases. this is no exception.
Felix Cartal – Domo (Pierce Fulton Remix) – tuuuuuuune. pierce fulton clearly one to watch this year.
after enjoying moguai’s essential mix release so much last week, i got stuck into his previously released album Mpire. here are the highlights. but if you ask me, buy the whole album. it’s awesome. one of the best you’ll hear this year, particularly with all the overrated releases you see at times. these are all huge tracks in their own way, get on them. now.
p.s. i put out a ton of songs to enjoy last week. if you didn’t get greyhound, the vocal version of calling, the remix of beating of my heart, let’s go, all by myself & the fox. go back and get them. fuck it, get them all. there was 20 awesome tracks in there that you missed out on if you failed to enjoy them. if the links have died, find them yourself! it’ll be more than worth it.
so it’s the first real post. sort of. a lot of songs today because everyone’s releasing their songs in time for ultra and wmc, so surely there’s something here to spark your interest. here we go.
Swedish House Mafia – Greyhound (Original Mix) – wow, this song is incredible. saw them open with it at future on sunday, one of the best acts you could see live in the world right now. they will exceed your expectations and then some.
Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso – Calling (Lose My Mind) – the vocal of this song at last. some hate it, but personally i love it. probably not quite the original because you already know the song inside out, but the vocal adds a little something to it to make it still an absolute tune.
Afrojack – Fatility (Original Mix) – not his best work, but it’s still afrojack.
Tiësto – Chasing Summers (Original Miami Mix) – keep an eye out for his upcoming compilation club life miami, will be real big.
Calvin Harris (Feat. Ne-Yo) – Let’s Go (Calvin Harris Remix) – better than the original, but both are quite good. calvin keeps on killing it.
Elen Levon – Like A Girl In Love (John Dahlback Remix) – quietly killing it himself in the last 12 months or so, another solid release by the swede. shows his versatility, listen to his various productions lately to see how different and varied they all are.
Dada Life – Kick Out The Epic Motherfucker (Original Vocal Mix) – i prefer the instrumental, but that doesn’t mean this song isn’t still a banger. well placed vocals.
Nicky Romero – Se7en (Original Mix) – nicky is killing it. i don’t think he’s released a song i don’t like in recent memory. he will be this year’s avicii.
Fatboy Slim vs. Cazzette – Killmode vs Right Here Right Now (CZT’s A Soccer Hurdle Bootleg) – this song is massive! keep an eye on the cazzette boys this year. going big.
Chuckie – Who Is Ready To Jump (Original Mix) – an older release yes, but fatboy slim’s dropping of the tune on sunday made me realise it was a must post. huge.
Autoerotique – Bring That Beat Back (Tiësto Edit) – i always like autoerotique songs. always. tiësto working his magic on this makes it even better. crazier than maximal crazy? possible.
Fedde Le Grand, Deniz Koyu & Johan Wedel – Turn It (Original Mix) – fedde le grand is so underrated, people always think to his original productions (that were commercially based and crap, i know) and fail to remember that last year he released huge tunes like paradise, metrum and more. download it. and somebody tour the guy already. it’s been a while.
Bart B More – Felix Cartal – Cascade – no worries tommy trash, it shares the same name but it is nothing like your progressive release from a month ago. be patient, 3:30 in this track hits full throttle. loved it on the first listen.
Chuckie (Feat. Gregor Salto) – What Happens In Vegas (Pierce Fulton Remix) – i’ve always underrated chuckie, but both songs posted today are huge. so is the original of this, but i think the remix just takes it for me. but get both. pierce fulton will go large this year, just you watch.
Dubvision – All By Myself (Original Mix) – the vocal sampling of moby in this song, combined with the big housey rewind drop in this song make it massive. it’s no wonder the swedish house mafia have taken a liking to playing it in their sets. it was one of the best i heard on sunday.
Third Party & Cicada – Feel (Original Mix) – third party are amazing. they need to be toured and toured now. i love every release. the remix of otherside was epic, so was their remix of i believe in. this will be a big song.
fRew ft. John Dubbs & Honorebel – Wicked Woman (Tommy Trash Remix) – it’s not tommy trash’s best work, to be honest he’s going to have to work some serious magic to outdo his work on ladi dadi (if you haven’t downloaded that yet, go get it here). but every production of his is worth having. so go.
M-3ox (Feat. Heidrun) – Beating Of My Heart (Matisse & Sadko Remix) – it’s in arty’s essential mix which i’ll be posting later. it’s big, it’s trouse. i like it. matisse and sadko are going places.
Whelan & Di Scala – The Fox (Original Mix) – classic big house tracks that i love are like this. it’s going to rack up a few plays for me, maybe for you as well.
Alexander Adstedt – We’re Still Here (Instrumental Mix) – not released yet. but i’ve been dying for the release, the live rip will have to do for now.
more coming later, enjoy for now.
